Spookify Playlist: Best Songs with ‘Ghost’ in the Title

It’s October, bitches.

The time for pumpkins, shitty lawn decorations, shitty kids, slutty Halloween costumes, and this year, an excuse to get drunk on a Tuesday. The spooky month has arrived.

There is no better way to usher in this month-long celebration than with a perfectly curated playlist. And by that I mean just a bunch of songs with “ghost” in the title. Do you have any idea how many songs have “ghost” in the title? A shitload. Honestly more than I could’ve ever imagined. If you would’ve asked me a year ago I would’ve said there are three or four good ones tops. Yet here we are, one 54-minute-long playlist later.

There was still a lot of thought put into this playlist, though. You’ve got the ethereal synth-heavy, expansive electronic landscapes and piercing vocals in On an On’s “Ghosts.” Then you get hit with a Laura Marling classic, “Ghosts,” for a delightfully jangly and incredibly heartfelt folk song. Melts my soul every time. Better yet are the dreamy chord progression and adorably catchy keyboard notes of David Vertesi’s (the bassist for Hey Ocean!) “Caroline! A Ghost!”

Finally, you can top it all off with the British indie-rock of Bombay Bicycle Club’s “Ghost,” which progresses steadily with Jack Steadman’s passionate vocals and ends with a downpour of captivating drum beats and guitar riffs perfect enough to fill any chilly October night. You really can’t go wrong with any of these.
