Photostory: Making Brunch With Friends

Sometimes, food with friends is the perfect break from the hustle and bustle of daily life

Details from a slow morning of cooking brunch with friends, captured on 35 millimetre film.

A midmorning day in the late summer. A hot cup of coffee made from freshly ground, locally roasted beans. Homemade waffles and pan-fried chicken sausages. Scrambled eggs and sautéed mushrooms. Fresh strawberries, raspberries, oranges and bananas. A group of close friends, cooking, laughing and listening to music together. Amongst the chaos of the world, it’s important to step back and appreciate the calm simplicity of moments like these.

Hi! My name is Sofia and I’m really excited to be working as The Gateway’s Art Director for the upcoming 2020-21 school year. I’m going into my fifth and final year of working towards my Bachelor of Design in Visual Communications Design. In my spare time, I like to take care of my plants, annoy my cat Napoleon, dabble in film photography and tend to my nearly unhealthy obsession with noodle soup.
