After their loss, the U of A Golden Bears won a subsequent game against the TWU Spartans.

On November 10, the University of Alberta Golden Bears volleyball team lost to the Trinity Western University (TWU) Spartans. This was their first match since the 2023 Canada West Finals in March.

Spartan’s setter Anselm Rein led the team to a 3-1 victory with 50 assists. Henry Rempel helped achieve this with 18 kills. However, Golden Bears’ Isaac Heslinga achieved a team-high of 17 kills and five digs.

After the loss of the first-set, the Golden Bears fought back in the second to make a short-lived comeback. Despite their efforts, the Spartans took over the last two sets where over half of Rein’s assists played out.

The next day the two teams played against each other once more. The Golden Bears won with a 3-1 victory.
